‘Stop the never-ending race for money’

FATEHGARH SAHIB: An eight-day workshop on ‘Human Values and Professional Ethics’ started at Baba Banda Singh Bahadur Engineering College, Fatehgarh Sahib.
The workshop is being organized by the college in partnership with Punjab Technical University, Jalandhar. The resource persons for the workshop include Rajul Asthana, former senior vice-president, Satyam Computers; and Shriram, former delivery-head Fujitshu.
Dr R P Bharadwaj, coordinator value education cell, Punjab Technical University, Jalandhar said that the course on ‘Human Values and Professional Ethics’ is being introduced as an essential course across all PTU affiliated institutions from the coming academic year 2011-12 to be offered in each semester for B.Tech, B.Pharma, BHMCT, BFAD, B.Arch., MCA and MBA.
Rajul said that the human beings have to live in harmony at the levels of self, family, society and the universe. He added that in order to make sure the harmony at these levels, it is absolutely essential for the human being to look within oneself. More than 60 participants from the PTU affiliated Institutions are participating in this residential workshop.
Rajul and Shriram are associated with the value education for a long time. Amarjit Singh Grewal, advisor, world Punjabi centre was the chief guest on the occasion.
“Most of the problems of the mankind are associated with the lack of human values.” said Grewal. He mentioned that it is due to this very reason that the human beings are stuck in the never-ending race for money. He added that this race
leads to the human beings exploiting the natural resources. College principal Dr M S Grewal stated that human values are most important in this modern time.
